What started as the first dedicated pole and aerial arts studio in Bulacan has grown into something much bigger—a vision to elevate Filipino talent and proudly represent the Philippines on the world stage.
Founded by Johnny Villanueva, Defy Cirque PH is the Philippines' first proudly Filipino contemporary cirque school, specializing in pole, aerial arts, acrobatics, and professional circus education.
More than a school, we are building a home for artists, athletes, and performers—a place where world-class training, original productions, and Filipino creativity come together.
Our mission is to develop exceptional artists, create meaningful performances, and inspire a new generation of Filipino circus talent.

From first-time beginners to aspiring performers, Defy Cirque PH offers progressive training in pole, aerial arts, acrobatics, flexibility, and contemporary circus. Our programs combine safe, structured instruction with creativity and performance, empowering every student to discover their strength, artistry, and confidence.
JOHNNY VILLANUEVA
is the Founder and Artistic Director of Defy Cirque PH, the Philippines’ first proudly Filipino contemporary cirque school dedicated to pole, aerial arts, acrobatics, and professional circus education.
With over 18 years of professional performance experience, Johnny is an international champion in numerous pole competitions, recognized choreographer, coach, and judge.
As Head Coach of the Philippine Pole & Aerial Arts Team, he has trained athletes to represent the Philippines while also serving as an international judge for prestigious pole and aerial championships.
Driven by a vision to elevate Filipino circus arts, Johnny founded Defy Cirque PH to train exceptional artists, create original productions, and proudly showcase Filipino talent on the world stage.
